    Originally Persia, Canary Islands, Southern France. Today also in France, England, Yugoslavia, Italy, Spain, Morocco. French lavender is preferred as it is richer in linalyl acetate giving it a sweeter, fruitier note.
  • Fragrance:
    Sweet, herbal to fruity floral scent.
  • Therapeutic Properties:
    Analgesic, anti-depressant, antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, carminative, cordial, cytophylactic, diuretic, deodorant, insecticide, nervine, parasiticide, sedative, stimulant, sudorific, tonic, vermifuge, vulnerary.

Uses:
Lavender was used in earlier days as a condiment and for flavoring dishes. The essential oil proves admirably restorative and tonic against faintness, palpitations of a nervous sort, weak giddiness, spasms, and colic. It is agreeable to the taste and smell, provokes appetite, raises the spirits, and dispels flatulence. it can be used for cuts, burns, sunburn, insect bites, rashes, insomnia, headaches, and infections.

Blends well with most oils, especially citrus and florals; also chamomile, juniper, pine, black pepper, clove, cedarwood, clary sage, pine, geranium, vetiver, rosemary, and patchouli.

Cautions: Lavender is one of the least toxic oils, but care should still be taken. People with low blood pressure may feel a bit dull and drowsy after using this oil. Avoid high doses during the first early month of pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant.
