FINALLY! Spring is here, and as we transition into this new season, we will begin our new 7-week series, 3 Body Qigong for Spring. As we continue our seasonal practice (based in Traditional Chinese Medicine), we will focus on the element associated with this time of year, which is wood.
Since we humans are connected to nature, the same wood energy that readies the plants and trees to begin their transition is happening inside of us, too! The energy of wood wants to move outward and get things done. If that energy becomes stuck, the result can be “qi stagnation,” which manifests as anger, irritability, depression, mood swings, poor sleep, migraines, pain, tension, and other symptoms. And where does that get stuck? In the organ associated with spring, the liver (more about this in our lecture/practice class.
The 7-week series for Spring will include new movements to help keep our body and emotions grounded, balanced, and harmonized. In addition to our new spring movements, we will continue with our usual set of body tapping, meridian stretching, energy ball practice, and meditation. This will help us to feel grounded, balanced, peaceful, and in harmony with nature! 3 Body Qigong for Spring is preventive maintenance for the body and mind!

David Sholemson
David is an energy healer, qigong teacher and workshop facilitator. His path began in December 2005, after a second knee surgery. He unknowingly wandered into an energy yoga center seeking a massage to help with the pain. Knowing nothing about energy, yoga or healing, he signed up. After practicing for 2 weeks, and receiving energy healing, David “just knew” this was something he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
After many trainings and workshops, under the tutelage of master healer- teacher Chun Shim, he became a Qigong teacher and workshop trainer. After 9 years of practice, he moved on to learn other forms of energy work. He became a Reiki master-teacher, Tong Ren practitioner, studied with qigong master Robert Peng and shaman, Sandra Ingerman. David has spent years studying the teachings of Ram Dass and has integrated what he has learned into his own life and his teachings, all with the intention to help guide others toward a healthier and happier life.
